After a landslide victory of the NDA government by securing 353 Lok Sabha seats in 2019, eyes are now intact on the Cabinet composition of the new government, as PM Modi takes oath along with 40 Ministers on May 30.

As Prime Minister Modi is all set to take the oath for the PM post for the second consecutive time, preparations are underway in the Rashtrapati Bhavan to welcome 8000 guests including foreign dignitaries. 

A highest ever 8,000 guests, including VVIPs, will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his council of ministers Thursday.

Rashtrapati Bhavan kitchen's specialty 'Dal Raisina' will be served to foreign delegates in a dinner to be hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind to dignitaries after the function.

The swearing-in ceremony will be of about 90 minutes and after that, a dinner will be served to around 40 dignitaries, including Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and the prime minister, besides leaders of all BIMSTEC countries, Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson Ashok Malik said Wednesday.

In 2014, when Narendra Modi took the oath for the first time, 24 Cabinet and 21 mInisters of state took the oath along with him. The guests included around 3500 dignitaries including head of SAARC countries ( Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives).

In 2019, as Modi takes the oath for his second consecutive term, here is the list of international leaders who will attend the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

President of Bangladesh - Md. Abdul Hamid

President of Sri Lanka - Maithripala Sirisena

President of the Kyrgyz Republic - Sooronbay Jeenbekov 

President of Myanmar - U Win Myint

Prime Minister of Mauritius - Pravind Kumar Jugnauth

Prime Minister of Nepal -  K.P. Sharma Oli

Prime Minister of Bhutan - Dr. Lotay Tshering 

Special Envoy of Thailand - Mr. Grisada Boonrach

Ahead of the ceremony, the Traffic advisory for Delhi has been released, along with security and traffic arrangements for smooth conduct of the event. 

Below are the following roads in New Delhi District that will be closed for movement of the general public between 4PM-9PM. 

1.   Rajpath (from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhawan)
2.  Vijay Chowk and adjoining areas including North and South fountain. 
3.  South Avenue
4.   North Avenue
5.  Dara-Shikoh Road 
6.  Church Road. 
 

Apart from that the who's who of the country from sports legends to film personalities will be in attendance at the ceremony from Rahul Dravid and Saina Nehwal to Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan. Industry bigwigs such as Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Ratan Tata have also been invited for the event. Besides Ambani, Adani, and Tata, business honchos Ajay Piramal, John Chambers, and Bill Gates have also been an extended invitation for Modi's swearing-in. Former sprinter P T Usha, cricketers Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Harbhajan Singh, badminton ace Saina Nehwal, badminton coach Pulella Gopichand and gymnast Dipa Karmakar are among the sports personalities invited to the ceremony, the sources said. Several film stars, including Kangana Ranaut, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Bhansali, Karan Johar, and Rajnikanth, have also been invited. 

The invites have been sent out to leaders in the lengths and breaths of the country as well where the Congress president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, CM elect Jagan Mohan Reddy and Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy have confirmed their presence, the likes of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan have refused to attend the event. 

As the day began, PM-elect Modi paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Sadaiv Atal Samadhi and to martyrs at National War Memorial in New Delhi. Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lamba and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria also accompanied him to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.
