With India inching closer and closer to general elections, the campaigns of political parties across the country are in full swing. In the pre-election hubbub, the prevailing scenario appears ever-changing, thus bringing in new shades to an already vibrant political landscape in the country in terms of seat-sharing, coalitions or fielding big names in different states. Republic TV and CVoter are back with the National Approval Ratings to give a complete national picture as to who will win if polls are held today.

The home-state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be one of the biggest states to look at during the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

According to the predictions of this month, BJP continues to maintain its dominant hold in the state while the opposition is projected to fail into making any inroads in Gujarat.

For the 26 seats up for grabs, BJP is projected for a massive win by grabbing 24 seats, while Congress is predicted to win 2 seats and none for others.

As far as the projections are concerned, the state has made no massive movement. As far as the vote share is concerned, UPA has a vote share of 39.1% in the state, while NDA persistently continues to lead according to predictions with 54.1% and 6.8% for Others.

Encompassing the current political situation in India, the significant strands to watch out for are various efforts to form 'united fronts' which appears to be a contest between those who were present at TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee's mega-rally in Kolkata, and those, like Telangana CM KCR, who weren't, as well as another Nehru-Gandhi scion, Priyanka Gandhi, commencing her (active) political career after the Congress party was snubbed by Akhilesh Yadav's SP's and Mayawati's BSP's alliance in Uttar Pradesh despite the party's victory in three Hindi heartlands in the Assembly elections- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, the BJP and Shiv Sena may have witnessed a thaw in their relationship with the Maharashtra government sanctioning Rs 100 crore for a Balasaheb Thackeray memorial. At the same time, pro-Mandir organisations RSS and VHP still pushing the BJP to bring in an Ordinance on the Ram Mandir issue in Ayodhya despite the Supreme Court also currently hearing the case.

The beginning of 2019 also saw parliament giving a green signal to provide 10 percent reservation in jobs and educational institutions to the economically weaker sections in the general category. It also remains to be seen what the Modi government's last budget holds for the people of India.

The results of 2019 Lok Sabha elections may or may not reflect the results or scenarios of the state assembly elections, nevertheless, to establish where we stand at present, Republic TV and CVoter has presented the National Approval Ratings.
