National Approval Ratings: In Rajasthan, despite Congress win at state level, NDA projected to be on upswing in 2019
With the Lok Sabha elections 2019 inching closer, Republic TV and CVoter are back to give a complete picture as to who will win if polls are held in December.
With the Lok Sabha elections 2019 inching closer, Republic and CVoter are back with the National Approval Ratings to give a complete picture as to who will win if polls are held today in the state of Rajasthan. After the declaration of assembly elections results in which the Congress party swept majority and formed the government under the Chief Ministership of Ashok Gehlot, the numbers coming in from Rajasthan are super interesting because it is everything unexpected in terms of the opposition's expectations:
PROJECTIONS: Out of 25 seats up for grab in Rajasthan, the NDA is slated to win 19 leaving the Congress with only 6 seats. This reflects that assembly election results did not affect the National elections but surprisingly the projection is turning out to be in favour of BJP from the last edition vis-a-vis Rajasthan.
- Seat Share:
UPA: 6 seats
NDA: 19 seats
Other Parties: 0 seats
- Vote Share:
UPA: 41.1 %
NDA: 46.2 %
Total: 12.7%

COMPARISON TO PREVIOUS NUMBERS:
- BJP GAINED DESPITE AN OUSTING AT ASSEMBLY LEVEL: In the November edition in Rajasthan, NDA was projected to win 17 seats while Congress was slated to grab 8 seats. Given the fact that the BJP has gained 2 seats as compared to November's edition and also the fact that these gains have come despite an election loss at the state level, it is clear that despite the assembly election loss, BJP has secured its tight hold in the state.
- BJP ON THE UPSWING: While there has been a clear transfer of 6 seats from the BJP, to the Congress vis-a-vis the 2014 tally, the fact of the matter is that the BJP on month-on-month comparison is on the upswing which only corroborates the claim that the vote in 2018 was against Raje and no the BJP regime at the centre in Rajasthan.

The results of 2019 Lok Sabha elections may or may not reflect the results or scenarios of the state assembly elections, nevertheless, to establish where we stand at present, Republic TV and CVoter has presented the National Approval Ratings.
