Amid the ongoing tussle between BJP and Shiv Sena over government formation, the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday took a jibe on the Sena-BJP tussle. Clyde Crasto, the NCP's spokesperson shared an artwork hitting out at the saffron alliance.
NCP on Sena-BJP tussle
On Tuesday, Clyde Crasto, the NCP spokesperson shared a picture of his artwork on Twitter. The picture shows a bow and arrow directly overhead and pointed towards the lotus flower. Apart from uploading the picture, Crasto wrote: "There's a saying, hanging over the head..."

The artwork resembles the ongoing scuffle between Shiv Sena and BJP. However, this is not the only instance when political parties have used cartoons to convey their messages. Earlier, Shiv Sena leader and Saamna editor Sanjay Raut tweeted a caricature of a 'tiger' smelling a 'lotus' indulgently while wearing a 'clock' (timepiece) around its neck. The caricature also shows the tiger's paw open which symbolises that the Sena is ready to strike.

The poster war continued after the BJP tweeted a picture after Shiv Sena's provocation. BJP's Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga tweeted a picture showing the party's dominance in Maharashtra. The illustration shows Uddhav Thackeray demanding a giant version of Devendra Fadnavis to address him as an elder brother. Fadnavis is shown to be looking irritatedly at Thackeray as he has been disturbed from listening to music.

BJP-Sena on government formation
The BJP and Shiv Sena are currently engaged in a tug-of-war over the government formation, four days after the assembly results were announced on October 24. Earlier on Saturday, the Shiv Sena demanded a written assurance from the BJP on the “50:50 formula” that includes sharing the CM’s post for 2.5 years each. However, Devendra Fadnavis has repeatedly maintained that the Mahayuti will return to power.
Maharashtra Assembly polls
The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won an absolute majority in the Maharashtra Assembly polls with the former emerging as the single largest party in the State with 105 seats. In recent elections, BJP won 105 seats compared to 122 in 2014. Even Shiv Sena's seat count went down to 56 from 63 in 2014, however, the party stays adamant that it wants one of its leaders as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Aaditya Thackeray, who recently secured his maiden electoral win from the Worli seat, is being mooted as the favourite Shiv Sena candidate to be the Chief Minister.
