Nehru jacket vs Modi vest: Omar Abdullah comments sarcastically at South Korean President thanking PM Modi

Minutes after South Korean President Moon Jae-in took to Twitter to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a vest he received from his Indian counterpart, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has raised a question about the 'Modi vest' label on the garment. 

Taking to his social media account, the NC leader said that all his life, he had known these jackets as Nehru jackets, and concluded with a sarcastic 'clearly nothing existed before 2014'. 

Omar Abdullah wasn't the only Twitter user to raise this point. Sanjay Yadav of the RJD also reacted to the post shared by South Korea's President Moon Jae-in and wrote:

On Wednesday afternoon, South Korean President Moon Jae-in was all in praise of the gift sent to him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Taking to Twitter,  Mr. Jae-in posted a photo of himself wearing said gift -- a vest -- which he has described as 'some gorgeous garments'. He went on to praise the 'modernized versions of traditional Indian costume' he received from his Indian counterpart, which he says was known as 'Modi-vest'.

President Moon Jae-in also recounted an exchange that took place during his visit to India and expressed his gratitude towards the Prime Minister of India for his 'kind gesture', with an image of all the different shades of vests he had received.  President Moon wrote that he was 'moved' by PM Modi's 'thoughtfulness' of tweeting in Korean upon becoming the 14th recipient of Seoul Peace Prize. He further congratulated Prime Minister Modi for the same.
