POLITICAL SCOOP | Three senior BJP leaders to help Rakesh Sinha draft the private member bill for 'Ram Mandir'

After the Supreme Court delayed hearings in the Ayodhya dispute case by setting the first week of January for the hearing dates to be decided, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and MP from Rajya Sabha Rakesh Sinha is likely to introduce a private member bill in the winter session of Parliament for the construction of Ram Mandir. As per sources, three senior BJP leaders will help him draft the private member bill.  

Taking to Twitter, Mr. Sinha wrote in Hindi,' All those who keep asking the BJP, RSS about the date for the Ram Mandir, I have a clear-cut question- Will they support my private member bill? It's time separate wheat from the chaff". 

He further questioned the opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sitaram Yechury, Laloo Prasad Yadav and Mayawati whether they will support the private member bill:

Earlier on Wednesday, RSS urged the government to bring a law to build Ram Mandir. A statement from the RSS read: 

"Ram Mandir is a subject of National pride and dignity. The way Sardar Patel reconstructed the Somnath Temple and how the then President Dr. Rajendra Prasad presided over the installation ceremony, in the same way, the government should acquire the land and grant it for building the Ram Mandir. For this, the government should come up with an ordinance".

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked on the development by the Supreme Court, saying 'delay in justice is tantamount to injustice'. In a series of tweets, Yogi Adityanath urged the Apex Court to provide a fast-tracked solution for the decades-old dispute.

He also wrote that 'everyone respects the Judiciary and adhere to the Constitution'. He further requested the Court to give a fast-tracked solution in the Ayodhya land matter.

This development has come after the Supreme Court on October 29 declined to give an urgent date of hearing for the Ayodhya dispute case. A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices SK Kaul and KM Joseph ordered the case to be listed in the first week of January before an appropriate bench for fixing a date of hearing. The bench, which was hearing a batch of petitions challenging the 2010 verdict in the case by the Allahabad High Court, turned down the Centre's request for the case to be heard in the week after Diwali, offering that the apex court has other priorities as well.
