Rajnath Singh in S Korea; Meets Korean PM, calls it "Light of East"
Rajnath Singh has landed in Seoul on Wednesday after visiting Japan. He is on a 5-day visit to East Asian countries to strengthen Defence ties with India

After his visit to Japan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has landed in Seoul, South Korea, on Wednesday. The Defence Minister is on a five-day visit to East-Asian countries. The main aim of this visit is to strengthen defence and security ties of East-Asian countries with India. His first stop was Japan.
Aim to strengthen Indio-South Korean bilateral Defence relations
Earlier on Wednesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met the Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-Yon. He is set to meet his Korean Defence counterpart Jeong Kyeong-Doo as well. The aim of the meeting is to discuss enhancements to bilateral defence and security.
The bilateral meeting with Republic of Korea will include wide ranging discussions to enhance bilateral defence and security engagements between the two countries.

While in Seoul, the Defence Minister is also scheduled to attend a Business-to-Government (B2G) meeting with Defence Industry members from Korea and India. The meeting with Defence industry delegates aims to boost the Defence Industry co-operation between India and the Republic of Korea.
India is also at work on building a strong military hardware co-operation with the Republic of Korea. The K-9 Vajra self-propelled howitzers built by Larsen and Tubro have already been inducted by the Indian Army.

Defence Minister meets South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-Yon
The Defence Minister described the Republic of Korea and India as natural partners who complement each other. He also echoed Rabindranath Tagore's moniker for the country, 'Light of East'.
