Pune's gangster Sharad Mohol shot, killed in Kothrud

Pune: Gangster Sharad Mohol was allegedly shot and killed on Friday afternoon in Pune's Kothrud, purportedly by a few members of his gang, according to a police official.

At roughly 1:30 pm, three or four attackers opened fire on Mohol from a close distance at Sutardara in Kothrud. The official stated that he was taken to a hospital after suffering gunshot wounds.
According to the official, teams have been assembled to apprehend the attackers, who are part of Mohol's gang.
The primary suspect, Sahil alias Munna Polekar, a Sutardara native, has been identified by police, and an investigation has been launched to apprehend him and his associates.
Pune City Police Commissioner Retesh Kumar told a national daily that prime facie, it is suspected that the attack on Sharad Mohol was dispute of an infighting within his his own gang over financial dispute.
Recently, in the presence of district Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, his wide-ranging and head of the Swarad Foundation in Kothrud, Swati Mohol, joined the BJP.
The authorities claim that Mohol is involved in multiple cases, including murder and dacoity. In the Yerawada jail killing of alleged Indian Mujahideen agent Muhammad Qateel Siddiqui, he was found not guilty. They claimed that a disagreement over money and land seemed to be the driving force behind the shooting.
