Abdul Rehman (19) was arrested on Sunday by a joint team of the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Haryana Special Task Force (STF), and central agencies near Faridabad in Haryana.

Sources told Republic Media Network the details of the modus operandi, explaining how Rehman was receiving training on operating an AK-47 rifle with assistance from the ISI.

Got Online Training From Pakistan

Initially, Abdul Rehman made a wooden AK-47 to get the grasp of the weapon. He was taking online training to learn how to operate an AK-47. All the processes were handled by ISI operatives across the border. Once they realised that Rehman had been radicalized, they decided to give him this plot to target the Ayodhya Ram Temple, sources said.

Conducted Recee of Ram Temple Premises

Sources further stated that during the preliminary inquiry, Rehman revealed that he conducted a recce of Gate numbers 1 and 2 at the Ram Temple.

Following the recce, Rehman came to Faridabad by train from Faizabad, where he met an unknown person who delivered him two hand grenades, they added.

The grenades had no marks of any country's company.

The grenades were defused after his arrest on Sunday, and he was later taken to Gujarat for further interrogation. Official sources have revealed that radical material was also recovered from him.
