Ravan Dahan in Gwalior is going to get bigger and better, here's why

The last day of Navratri is celebrated by burning an effigy of Ravan to fumes. The burning of effigy symbolises the prevalence of virtuous and the defeat of evil. The city of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh hosts a market where effigies of Ravan are sold. Gwalior is famous for its Ravan market situated in the Chapparwala bridge area. The market sells effigies from one foot to twenty-five feet. Reportedly, Gwalior hosts about 10,000 Ravan Dahans in the city. Take a look at some of the biggest Dussehra celebrations that the people of Gwalior are all set to witness.

Here are the three Dussehra celebrations you should attend this Navratri

1. Chhatri Maidan
The Chhatri Maidan this year is going to burn the biggest effigy in the city. A 60 feet long effigy of Ravan, Meghnath and Khumbhkaran will be burned on the ground. The organisers have arranged a great show of fireworks, after the Ravan Dahan. Reportedly, 500 crackers have been bought for the fireworks show. 

2. Jiwaji Club
Jiwaji Club is all set to erect a 50 feet long effigy of Ravan, Meghnath and Khumbhkaran. The organisers, here too, have planned a grand show of fireworks after the Ravan Dahan with 500 crackers. Reportedly, the organisers are planning to burn the effigy at 10:00 pm. 

3. Deen Dayal Nagar
Deen Dayal Nagar is all set to burn an effigy of Ravan, Meghnath and Khumbhkaran, of 40 feet tall each. The organisers will reportedly burn the effigy at 9:00 pm. 

This time, Ramleela will be carried out from Achleshwar Mahadev Temple to Chhatri Maidan. Reports add that around 400 crackers have been bought for the show and that the organisers have staged a live battle between Lord Ram and Ravan. It seems that the organisers have also arranged Krishna-Radha's Rasleela along with a plethora of band performances.
