Republic Accesses Latest Remand Copy in Renukaswamy Murder Case, Probe Reveals Financial Angle
Republic has accessed the latest remand copy in the Renukaswamy Murder Case which highlights the financial angle of the investigation.
It's been over three weeks since the chilling murder of Renukaswamy has come to light with the accused including actors Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and 15 others. In the latest remand copy accessed by Republic, the investigation throws light on the financial angle, evidence collected and SIM cards registered in the name of others used by the accused. The investigation authorities have collected 66 objects belonging to Renukaswamy which is a part of the evidence and have sent it to the forensic science lab to examine them for clues related to the murder which also includes obtaining finger prints and DNA match of the accused.
Cop Investigation Reveals Explosive Details on Financial Transactions
In the remand copy, the investigation has pointed that the total cash seized in connection with the case is Rs 83.65 lakhs out of which Rs 70 lakhs seized in this case belongs to actor Darshan. Rs 40 lakh had been given to Darshan by a person Mohan Raj who has political connections and the remaining Rs 30 lakhs was arranged by Darshan and was given to accused no 14 Pradosh to pay off the gang which kidnapped and disposed Renukaswamy's body and also the other 3 accused i.e Nikhil Nayak, Keshavmurthy and Karthik who surrendered before the cops claiming responsibility for the murder. The investigation authorities have also informed the Income tax department about the seizures made so that they can find the source of cash.
Renukaswamy's Time of Death Yet to be Confirmed
The exact time of Renukaswamy's death is yet to be ascertained by the doctors. Reports has shown that Renukaswamy had consumed food between 4.30 PM to 5 PM on June 8 but it has still not been known about the exact time of his death. There are different timelines in the statements given by the accused about the time of death. Everyone has attacked Renukaswamy and majority of the accused were in an inebriated condition. The police have sought time from the forensic professor at Victoria hospital to determine and submit a report on the time of death.
7 Accused were Using SIM Cards Registered in Name of Others
Actors Darshan and Pavithra Gowda along with five accused were using SIM cards registered in the name of others reveals investigation in the remand copy. This came to light when the police had applied for duplicate SIM cards to find out the details of calls and messages exchanges by the accused before, during and after the murder of Renukaswamy
Details of SIM Cards and Owners
1) Accused no 1 Pavithra Gowda was using a number registered in the name of Manoj who is a resident of Basaveshwaranagar in Bengaluru
2) Accused no 2 Darshan was using a number registered in the name of CP Hemanth who is a resident of Prakashnagar in Bengaluru
3) Accused no 5 Nandish was using a number registered in the name of CP Hemanth who is a resident of Prakashnagar in Bengaluru
4) Accused no 14 was using a number registered in the name of Suparna Goshal who is working as a senior manager at a private company
5) Accused no 15 Karthik was using a mobile number registered in the name of Velu who is a resident of Girinagar in Bengaluru
6) Accused no 16 Keshavamurthy was using a mobile number registered in the name of Pragna who is a resident in Iyengar Road, Bengaluru
7) Accused no 17 Nikhil Nayak was using a mobile number registered in the name of Geetha who is a resident of Kembathalli in Bengaluru
All the owners of these SIM cards have also been interrogated by the cops to find out why were the mobile numbers registered under their names.
Witnesses will Include Domestic Help, Close Aides of Actors
Darshan's domestic help Babu Lal Khan, Aamir Khan and Susheelamma have been included as witnesses in the case by the cops. Pavithra Gowda's friend and close aide Samantha is also a witness. The other witnesses include Chethan Gowda who was a worker at Stony Brook pub where the accused number 2 and accused number 10 were partying before they could be brought to the shed where Renukaswamy was confined to. Darshan's friends Mohan Raj and Prakash too have been included as witnesses.
Actor Chikkanna's Role in the Dark!
The investigation officer had also interrogated actor Chikkanna in connection with the case but his name has not been mentioned in the remand copy so far. Actor Chikkanna was seen partying along with actor Darshan at the Stony Brooks pub on the day of Renukaswamy's murder.
