ICC Hall of Famer Sachin Tendulkar wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday and hailed the leader's vision as an inspiration to the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 69 on Tuesday 17, September, and was greeted by several leaders and netizens who took to social media to wish PM Modi. PM Narendra Modi has a packed schedule and will spend a better part of the day in Gujarat, where he will pay a visit to the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada river to kick off the 'Namami Narmade' festival. Earlier, skipper Virat Kohli had also taken to Twitter to wish PM Modi and wished him success in the pursuit of taking India to greater heights.
Sachin Tendulkar hails PM Modi's vision
The former Indian cricketer took to the micro-blogging website to convey his wishes to PM Modi and hailed his vision for a healthier and cleaner country. The Master Blaster wished PM Modi success and good health for his future and said that his vision of Swacch Bharat and Ayushman Bharat was an inspiration for the entire country. Apart from Sachin Tendulkar, several other celebrities from the film industry like Lata Mangeshkar, Ajay Devgn and Ayushmann Khurrana also wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Ministers, Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, Manohar Lal Khattar of Haryana, Dr. Pramod Sawant of Goa, Vijay Rupani of Gujarat also extended their greetings. PM Modi attends Namami Narmade
Modi arrived at Kevadiya on Tuesday morning to take part in the 'Namami Narmade' festival being celebrated by the Gujarat government to mark the filling up of the dam to its full reservoir level of 138.68 metres. For the first time since the height of the dam was raised in 2017, the water level reached its highest peak at 138.68 metres on Sunday evening. Modi along with Rupani, then performed 'puja' at the dam site to welcome the water of river Narmada, the lifeline of Gujarat. The PM, who would be addressing a gathering near the dam, also visited various developmental projects being carried out near the dam and Statue of Unity to boost tourism. These projects include river rafting, a jungle safari park, a butterfly park and Ekta Nursery, an official said. Modi also visited the Khalvani Eco-Tourism site. In the safari, he reportedly spotted deer. He also visited the Dutt Mandir at nearby Garudeshwar village on the banks of Narmada.
