Four people scammed of Rs 24 crore with a promise of land near Jewar Airport
Gaurav said that they met the two accused in 2022 where they introduced themselves as big landowners of Jewar and members of a political party.
Noida: A shocking incident in NCR caught the limelight after an IT professional and his three friends claimed to have been cheated on over the sale of land near the Jewar Airport.
Gaurav Sharma and his friends claimed that they had paid Rs 24 crore in five months, from March to July, to purchase 175 bighas of land in Mehandipur Bangar village of Rabupura UP, near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The group wanted to set up an agro-base on the purchased land.
However, the group discovered the scam when the accused made excuses for not giving them a copy of the transfer documents and threatened them.
Gaurav said that they met the two accused, Sachin Bhati and Ravindra Sharma in 2022 where they introduced themselves as big landowners of Jewar and members of a political party. He added that both promised them 100 to 200 bighas of land.
An FIR was lodged under IPC sections 420 (Cheating), 467, 468, 471— all three related to forgery, 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), and 506 (Criminal Intimidation).
The Gautam Buddha Nagar police have booked 16 people for allegedly duping people for money on the pretext of selling them plots near the airport.
For now, the police is investigating the matter and the accused apart from Sachin and Ravindra have also been identified.
