Train 18, which is set to be the fastest train in India after its flagging off on December 29, has already been vandalised by miscreants. Stones were thrown at the Railways' fastest train when it was on a trial run between Delhi and Agra on Wednesday.
Photo shows that the window of the train was broken. The extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.
Train 18, the fastest train from railways' stable, will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 29, as per sources. The country's first engine-less train will replace Shatabdi trains and will run between Delhi and Varanasi
Earlier, Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal had put out a tweet which had a video of visuals of the Train 18 running at full speed in Rajasthan:
This train is comprised of as many as 16 coaches including the driving coach with around 44 seats and 78 seats installed in trailer coaches. Two disabled-friendly toilets have also been installed in the train and there is a space for baby care along with special pantry units.
Moreover, CCTV cameras on both the sides of driving cab have been installed in order to help the driver to monitor the movement of passengers on the platform before closing the doors and hitting the tracks.
It has aerodynamically designed driver cabins at both ends for quicker turn-around at destinations. The train sports an advanced regenerative braking system which saves power.
The fully air-conditioned train offers better passenger comfort and safety, as all equipment are fixed under the carriage, so that more space is available on board, officials said.
