New Delhi: In a distressing incident captured by CCTV cameras, a woman fell victim to a robber in the Bindapur area of Delhi's Dwarka. The crime unfolded in the early hours of January 6, around 6:30 am, within the confines of Sainik Nagar Colony in the Bindapur police station jurisdiction.
The assailant, identified as Shiv Kumar alias Vicky, a 38-year-old resident of Sirohi Raj in Bhilwara district, approached the woman from behind as she traversed a street. Strangling her into unconsciousness, the miscreant swiftly seized her purse and phone before making a hasty escape.

The entire ordeal was captured by a nearby CCTV camera, providing crucial evidence for the subsequent police investigation. Once the woman regained consciousness, law enforcement was promptly informed about the incident.
A case was registered based on the woman's statement, and swift action ensued. Utilizing the CCTV footage, authorities successfully apprehended the accused, Shiv Kumar alias Vicky, who already had a history of criminal activities with six prior cases registered against him.
