South Korea LPGA golf tour resumes after virus pause

South Korea's women's golf tour officially resumed on Thursday, the first LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tour opening in the world since golf championships were postponed due to the coronavirus.

The 42nd KLPGA Championship took place at the Lakewood Country Club in Yangju, South Korea.

Top players playing on South Korean and international LPGA Tours participated in the championship.

South Koreas has reported 10,991 cases of coronavirus and 260 death.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

But the virus is highly contagious and can be spread by those with mild or no visible symptoms.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and could lead to death.
