Smart elephant crosses an electric fence with the help of wooden pole
A video of a smart elephant carefully pushing down the wooden pole and crossing over the other side without touching the electric fence has gone viral
A video shared on Twitter showing an elephant crossing the electric fence with the help of a wooden pole has gone viral. Electric fencing is used to reduce human-wildlife conflict and areas where elephants mostly raid crops in search of food, the electric fencing is used to keep them out. However, the “exceptionally smart animal” carefully pushed down the wooden pole and crosses over the other side without touching the electric wires.

The video shared by IFS Susanta Nanda has received almost 30,000 views and has been liked more than two thousand times. Many netizens have commented saying, “Elephants are smarter than most people think”. Another commented, “Loved this. Let them break all ugly barricades on their path. They usually stay in its course and rarely breaches into a strange place that too only because of a shortage of vegetation to feed. Instead of spending for fences why not link and clear their path”.
Elephants practising football skills
Elephants who took part in the Dasara festival procession in Myuru have returned to the Dubare Elephant camp and were seen playing football on Tuesday. The jumbos were spotted practising their football skills and amusing the tourists. Tourists visiting the camp are often amazed seeing the training and daily activities of these elephants they take a bath in the river, play football and do other tasks. There are 26 elephants in the upscale camp and three elephants in the nearby elephant camp. Ou of these elephants, six elephants participated in the historic Mysore Dasara celebrations.
