So just how tall is the tallest statue in the world? Here's how India's Statue Of Unity goes up against Eiffel tower, Titanic, Giant Sequoias, Blue Whales and more!

Following its inauguration on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, the ‘Statue of Unity’ in Gujarat's Kevadia is officially the tallest statue in the world, standing head and shoulders above the previous incumbent which is located in China, as well as a number of other famous statues all over the world.

However, to get a true estimate of just how tall the edifice to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel really is, below are a set of statistics that put matters into perspective, placing the 182-metre-tall statue (240m if you consider the base) against other things that have in one way or another been well known for their size.

Statue of Unity & Sequoia Sempervirens  

Commonly known as the Coast Redwood, the tallest tree in the world grows 91 metres in height - roughly the height of the Statue of Liberty. However, at 182m, the Statue of Unity is twice its height.

Statue of Unity & Airbus A380

The world’s largest passenger airliner, the 400+-seater Airbus A380, is 73-metres-long with a double-deck, four engines, and a wide-body. However, Sardar Patel’s statue is taller than the combined length of 2 Airbus A380s (plus maybe two Gulf Streams)

Statue of Unity & Imperial II (Building in Mumbai)

When you put the tallest statue in the world next to the building which for a number of years has been the tallest in India, there is a gap of 74 metres between the two, with Imperial II standing tall at 256 metres. However, if you consider the Statue of Unity's cumulative height of 240m, things starts to get very close.

Standing tall at 324 metres till the tip, this Wonder of the World is 142 metres taller than the 182-metre-tall Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue in Gujarat, though, once again, as a complete monument, the Statue of Unity would appear equally imposing.
