Stone Pelting On Train Bound For Maha Kumbh: Passengers Share Videos Of Broken Glass

Jalgaon: A Maha Kumbh -bound train was reportedly attacked in Maharashtra 's Jalgaon when a group of miscreants allegedly pelted stones on the Taptiganga Express. The train was travelling from Surat to Prayagraj. As per claims, the train was carrying a large group of devotees, who were on their way to take a ritual bath at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. However, as the train was passing through Jalgaon, a group of miscreants reportedly pelted stones, which led to the breaking of the window glasses and causing panic among the passengers.

Reportedly, the incident took place at around 3.20 pm when the train was leaving Jalgaon station. According to railway officials, a stone was thrown at the window of coach B-6, breaking the glass near berth numbers 33 to 39. Passengers in the AC coach, who were shocked by the loud crash of the breaking glass, quickly recorded videos and informed the authorities about the incident. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries to the passengers.

An official on duty stated that a young man has been identified as the culprit, who reportedly fled the scene immediately after carrying out the attack. The Railway police were promptly alerted and initiated further investigation into the matter. 

Following the incident, the senior police officials visited the site where the stone pelting occurred. However, no further information about the assailants was obtained. 

A case was filed under relevant sections at the Jalgaon RPF (Railway Protection Force) police station and a probe has been initiated. 

Several videos have also surfaced showing the broken glass, wherein the passengers also expressed their concerns about the safety of the journey. The authorities have assured that they will take strict action against the person responsible for the act.
