Telangana Police on a lookout for those sending dirty water to CM KCR
Telangana CM KCR, DGP M. Mahendar Reddy, and other politicos and bureaucrats received "gifts" emitting an unusual smell, which turned out to be dirty water
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar, DGP M. Mahendar Reddy, and other politicos and bureaucrats received "gifts" emitting an unusual smell, which turned out to be dirty water, mixed with industrial waste in bottles.
The postal department officials notified that on Friday evening that a person brought 62 parcels that were intended to be delivered to KCR, TRS party working president K.T. Rama Rao, and other TRS ministers and leaders including K. Kavitha, T. Harish Rao, and several bureaucrats.
Following the incident, Telangana Police launched a hunt to nab people who tried to send 'dirty water' to KCR and his son KT Rama Rao along with other important personalities in the city.
Police said 62 bottles containing the liquid were seized earlier from the Secunderabad Post office when postal officials complained about a foul smell emanating from the bottles packed in cartons booked by unknown people.
"We got the Forensic Science Laboratory report on the contents of the bottle. They said it was dirty water. Based on the description given by postal department officials, we are trying to nab the persons," Kalmeshwar Shingenavar, DCP, North Zone, Telangana told PTI.
The police official said the bottles sent to the Telangana chief minister were meant "to create mischief."
The bottles packed in cartons were booked in the name of a former official of the Osmania University who denied having any knowledge about it.
Some parcels were addressed to KCR's daughter and former MP Kavitha, City Police Commissioner, Director General of Police and film actors among others, police said.
