'The issue of Ram Janmabhoomi is not about politics, it is about religious sentiments': Yogi Adityanath urges SC to give verdict in favor of Ram Mandir

A couple of days before the Supreme Court begins hearing on the Ayodhya title suit, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has urged the apex court to allow the construction of the Ram Mandir, while stating that the topmost court shouldn't discriminate in giving decisions.

“There should be no discrimination. If the Supreme Court can give its verdict on the Sabarimala Temple, then we appeal that a decision on the Ram Mandir should also be taken as soon as possible. This is best for peace in the country. Moreover, the issue of Ram Janmabhoomi is not about politics, it is about religious sentiments,” Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday during an event.

Furthermore, Yogi declared on Sunday that he will be celebrating the festival of Diwali in Ayodhya this year along with the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, as the Chief Guest in the event. He took to Twitter to announce about the same. In his tweet, the BJP leader wrote,

“Diwali in Ayodhya and Holi in Barsana, Mathura have been celebrated wholeheartedly. Now, we will celebrate Diwali with magnificent preparations in which we will welcome the President of South Korea to celebrate the festival with us”.

Yogi Adityanath’s remarks have come days after VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) leaders dared the top court that they will not wait for its verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case and will build the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as soon as it is possible.

On September 27, the Supreme Court in its 2:1 majority judgment, had rejected the plea to refer the case to a larger bench and had ruled that the matter will be treated as a ‘land issue’ since they reviewed that ‘mosque is not an essential part of the practice of Islam for Muslims. Now, the apex court will commence hearing in the sensitive case on October 29.
