An incident involving a thief who was trying to run away after stealing gold from his employer's house went viral. A 21-year-old man, Kushal Singh, was trying to escape to his hometown in Ajmer after stealing jewellery from his employer's house in Bengaluru by boarding a train on the night of Diwali. However, the police officials took a flight and landed in Ajmer before the train in which Kushal was travelling could even reach the city and caught the thief red-handed.
Cops outsmart jewellery thief
According to reports, Kushal had been referred by his current employer's, Mehak V Piragal's, family friend and had started to work for the businessman on the day of Diwali. He had committed the theft on the very first day of his job.
The 21-year-old man was asked to take care of the house as Piragal and his family left for a Diwali puja at their shop in the area of Chickpet. However, the family returned to their house around 9 pm to find that their house had been robbed. Reportedly, gold jewellery kept in one of the cupboards was missing along with Kushal Singh.
As soon as the family registered what had happened, they filed a complaint with the police and a quick investigation revealed that Mehak's servant had taken a train to escape to Ajmer, Rajasthan. The cops then took a flight to Jaipur and then travelled to Ajmer in order to catch the thief red-handed before he could sell the stolen jewellery but had to wait for three days for Kushal as the train journey from Bengaluru to Ajmer takes a total time of 3 days.
A wrong path to make a quick buck
While talking to a local media outlet, one of the police officers stated that Kushal had come to Bangalore for the first time and did not have any prior criminal record. He just wanted to earn money quickly but chose a wrong path to do that and that got him arrested.
