Two Critical After Fire Breaks Out in 31-Storey Mumbai Building

Mumbai: As many as two people were left in critical condition due to suffocation after a fire broke out on the second floor of a 31-storey building at Goregaon in Mumbai on Saturday afternoon, officials confirmed.
A fire brigade official said that the incident occurred at the Kalpataru Radiance building in Siddarth Nagar, near Prabodhan Garden in Goregaon (West).
"The blaze erupted around 2.15 pm on the second floor of the residential building. It was confined to electric wiring, other electric installations and household articles," he said, adding that it was tagged as a level-1 (minor) fire.
The victims, identified as Manoj Chauhan, 35, and Shahabuddin, 50, suffered severe suffocation and were reported in critical condition following the incident.
Authorities continued investigating the cause of the fire, though no specific details were immediately available.
