In a shocking incident on Tuesday, BJP MLA Sarita Bhadoria fell onto a railway track at Etawah Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh while flagging off the newly launched Vande Bharat Express. The mishap occurred during a crowded event organized to welcome the Agra-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's larger flag-off ceremony for six new Vande Bharat trains.
Crowds Gather in Etawah to Welcome Vande Bharat
The Agra-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, which was launched to reduce travel time between the two cities, reached Etawah Junction at around 6:05 PM, where a massive crowd had gathered to witness the historic moment. Several local leaders, including Etawah MLA Sarita Bhadoria, were present to greet the train and its crew.
Bhadoria, along with other leaders, welcomed the loco-pilot and train manager with garlands, when suddenly the situation spiraled out of control.
MLA Sarita Bhadoria Falls, Rescued by Crowd
As the crowd surged forward in excitement, chaos ensued, and MLA Sarita Bhadoria was accidentally pushed onto the railway track. "The crowd, which is seen raising slogans, went out of control pushing its way forward," eyewitnesses reported.

In a viral video, the MLA is seen holding a green flag before the fall. Immediate action was taken by police personnel on-site, who struggled to push the crowd back and prevent further incidents. Bhadoria sustained minor injuries and was swiftly rescued and brought back to the platform by bystanders and security personnel.
Several attendees rushed to assist her, while others alerted the loco-pilot to ensure the train did not start prematurely. "Soon after the MLA fell, several people rushed to rescue her, while others could be seen alerting the train loco-pilot," one of the officials said. Fortunately, Bhadoria’s injuries were minor, and she received immediate medical attention.

PM Modi Inaugurates Six New Vande Bharat Trains
On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off six Vande Bharat trains virtually, connecting key regions in Jharkhand , Odisha , Bihar , and Uttar Pradesh from Ranchi. Among these newly inaugurated routes was the Agra-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, which had a scheduled stop at Etawah Junction on Tuesday evening.
Agra-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Schedule and Operations
The newly launched Vande Bharat Express service between Agra and Varanasi aims to provide faster connectivity between the two cities. The train departs from Agra, making stops at key locations, including Tundla Railway Station at 5:05 PM, Etawah at 6:05 PM, Kanpur at 7:50 PM, before arriving in Varanasi at 11:55 PM.
The return journey begins from Varanasi at 12:30 AM, with an expected arrival in Agra by 8:00 AM. Currently, the train is scheduled to operate six days a week, excluding Fridays. However, the Indian Railways has yet to release an official timetable or fare details.
