VIDEO: Netizens Go Berserk As Senior Citizen Performs Karva Chauth Puja For Mia Khalifa

An elderly man grabbed headlines after a video of him observing a Karva Chauth fast for adult film star Mia Khalifa went viral on X.

The senior citizen, in a video shared on Sunday, can be seen breaking his fast over Khalifa's image pinned on the wall of a terrace.

The senior citizen can be seen holding a traditional thali and a sieve (channi) with an earthen lamp (diya) gazing at a picture of Khalifa pinned on a wall.

However, the elderly man's decision to observe the fast for Khalifa triggered mixed reactions on social media.

Karwa Chauth is a traditional festival for married women in India, in which married women fast for the long and healthy lives of their husbands symbolising devotion and love.

While some users found it funny, some were quick to accuse the senior citizen of disrespecting the sanctity of the festival by involving someone from an adult industry. 

One user wrote, “Regrettably, such beautiful celebrations have been reduced to indulgent displays, driven by the desire for mere attention and views.”

Another user commented, "Nothing just their grandchildren made them do this just for some likes and engagement.”
