CM Vijay Rupani announces Ahmedabad Metro extension project

The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, took to Twitter on Sunday evening and announced an extension work in the Ahmedabad Metro from Motera to Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. This comes after PM Modi sanctioned Rs. 5,384.17 for the project. CM Rupani also informed that the work on this project would begin in June 2020 and it is likely to be completed by 2024.

'Necessary to develop a speedy, safe public commutation mechanism'
As per the official website of PM Modi, the Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Nitin Patel, during the launch of the metro had said that it was necessary to develop a speedy and safe public commutation mechanism considering the fast and all-round development and large scale industrial projects taking place in and around Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar under the farsighted leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Nitin Patel also said that the total length of the metro rail project route will be 76 km, out of which the Ahmedabad city route will be 44 km. and the route connecting Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will be 28.26 km.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train
This ambitious project connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad is likely to be completed by 2023. The total length of the proposed High-Speed Railway Corridor will be 508.17 km. The train will pass through two States - Gujarat and Maharashtra and one Union Territory, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and the proposed corridor will be lying in Western Railways’ zone. The High-Speed Railway Corridor, along with state-of-the-art technology, will encompass a 21 km long undersea tunnel. Managing Director of NHSRCL (National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited), Achal Khare, had earlier said that the 508-km-long project approximately requires Rs 1.08 lakh crore of investment, however, the exact cost can only be known after the tender process for the bullet train is complete.
