In a display of India's indigenous defense abilities, DRDO on Friday has released a video of the successful series of trials of the NAG – 3rd Generation Anti- Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) held at the Pokhran Field Firing Ranges.

Here are visuals of the test released by DRDO:

According to 'Make in India' official website, the third generation ATGM was needed as the current second-generation missiles are based on vintage technology and have been in service for more than three decades. They are also deficient in advanced technologies, primarily the guidance parameters and capability to fight both during day and night.

The third-generation ATGM system has better accuracy, day and night capabilities, and increased survivability which also lends itself to higher mobility due to its weight configuration to meet the enhanced threat, according to 'Make in India' defence.
