On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the state government was collaborating with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Lucknow to develop a roadmap geared towards the comprehensive development of the state. He said that this would help UP achieve the goal of creating a $1 trillion economy. Adityanath made these remarks while talking to the media before the commencement of the second session of the leadership development programme, ‘Manthan’. He mentioned that besides Ministers, top government officials would brainstorm with the IIM representatives in the second session.
‘Teamwork will help deliver good results’
The UP CM stressed that the second session of ‘Manthan’ would help to achieve the goals of good governance and development. The third session of the leadership programme is scheduled for September 22.
"In the third session, the same team will sit with IIM and we will work on the comprehensive development of the Uttar Pradesh through a roadmap that we would chalk out. This will help the state convert into a $1 trillion economy. In today's sitting, apart from the Ministers, Chief Secretary, additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, Heads of Departments are also included. Ministers have experience in public life and administrative officials have a vision. The teamwork with the help of IIM will deliver good results," he said.
The first session of 'Manthan'
A week ago, Adityanath and his ministerial colleagues created history by taking part in governance and leadership lessons at the IIM-Lucknow from senior members of the faculty. The Uttar Pradesh government, in a statement, revealed that this was the first time when any state government decided to take training from one of the country's top management institutes. During the programme, the UP CM opined that the government was making a sincere effort to make UP the best state in the country. He observed that his government was working for the people with the spirit of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas". Adityanath further added that such training programmes would prove beneficial for the state's holistic development.
