Banks will remain closed for 5 consecutive days now: Holidays declared at these places
December 25 is a Christmas holiday. Christmas falls on Monday. However, banks will also remain closed on December 23 (Saturday) and December 24 (Sunday), making it a total of 3 days. But in some cities, holidays will continue beyond that.
The new year is on the corner and it's only 12 days remaining in December. On one hand, Christmas is coming, and alongside that, banks will have a consistent holiday for five days. So, if you are planning to go on a vacation, then you can plan comfortably. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, banks across the nation will be shut for a sum of 18 days in December. In the case of state-specific festivals, banks will only be closed in those states. However, on holidays like Christmas banks will be closed across the nation.
Also, there are many places where there will be a holiday until the 27th in connection with Christmas. On the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, Banks in Panji will be closed on Tuesday. However, despite the closure of banks, some work can still be done online.
Yet, in certain urban communities, occasions will go on past that. For instance, banks will be shut in Aizawl on December 25-26.
From that point onward, in Kohima, banks will stay shut on December 25-26-27 for the Christmas merriments, and in Shillong, occasions will likewise be seen on December 25-26.
