From Gua sha to LED masks, these skincare trends from 2023 will continue to rule in 2024.
2023 was a year of skincare trends. From using face wrinklers to LED masks, a lot of new things came into existence and were ardently followed. Snail mucin was the new hype and many other things followed up. Multiple products were also introduced to keep your skin hydrated and flushed. The upcoming year 2024 is also expected to see many such trends coming up. However, as per experts, many trends from 2023 will continue in the upcoming year.
Are you a skincare fanatic? Look out for these trends in 2024.
Skin cycling
One of the most popular skincare trends to emerge was skin cycling. It originated on TikTok and soon went viral all over social media with people in different parts of the world practicing it. The aim of this trend is to allow your skin to ease into the use of exfoliants and retinol while also prioritising your barrier’s health. Not many know but it is very important to keep a check on your skin barrier. You need to use an exfoliant like glycolic acid as part of your night routine on the first day. Use retinol on the second night. Now, in a bid to let your skin recover, use a nourishing moisturiser on days 3 and 4.
This beauty regime is helpful in maximising the efficacy of products.
Skin flooding
This skincare regime is all about the products that come in between toner and moisturiser. This beauty trend has emerged from K-beauty regimes that have an assortment of serums, ampoules, essences and waters. All you need to do is use multiple hydrating formulas on top of each other.
If done before applying makeup, it gives a clean and radiant look.
Gua sha
Gua sha picked up pace in 2023 and will continue to do so in the upcoming year as well. For those who don’t know, it is a flat tool which is made of semi-precious stone that is used to massage the face. This modern-day face scraping technique is associated with a traditional Chinese healing practice known as Gua Sha. Using this tool is accompanied by several benefits. It combats cystic acne, fights scars, reduces puffiness and also softens wrinkle lines.
LED face masks
LED face masks use red light which is directly exposed on your skin and can help ease irritation and lessen red discoloration. This is very helpful in treating irritated blemishes and light scarring. LED light mask therapy also helps in evening skin tone and reduces patches of unwanted discoloration.
