On World Poetry Day, Nobel foundation remembers Rabindranath Tagore's sensitive, fresh and beautiful poetry. Here it is
People around the globe are celebrating World Poetry Day on Thursday, March 21. To mark the occasion, on Thursday, March 21, The Nobel Prize paid tribute to Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore.

While the country is marooned in the festival of colours, people around the globe have got another reason to celebrate as it is also World Poetry Day. Observed on March 21 every year, the purpose of the day is to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry around the globe.
To mark the occasion, on Thursday, March 21, The Nobel Prize paid tribute to Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. The institution extended a message remembering the 1913 Nobel Prize awardee on their official Twitter handle and shared a throwback picture of the world-renowned poet. In the post, they quoted a line from one of his poem which read: "The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough."
Further reminiscing the achievements of the legendary writer in the post, they wrote, "Rabindranath Tagore, awarded the 1913 Nobel Prize in Literature for his sensitive, fresh and beautiful poetry expressing his poetic thought. #WorldPoetryDay"

Meanwhile, the celebrations of World Poetry Day was initiated by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999. It was adopted during UNESCO's 30th session held in Paris in 1999. As per reports, the original UNESCO declaration on the same says, it is observed to "give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements".
