Christmas is celebrated by over a billion people all over the globe and is one of the biggest festivals celebrated around the world. It falls on the 25th of December every year. It is famous for its values of celebrating the life, sacrifices and teaching of Jesus Christ. Santa Claus, lights, decorations, and Christmas trees make the festival a happening one. Christmas In Indian cities:

Kolkata

The city’s main market is lit up with amazing Christmas decorations. The iconic Anglo-Indian Barracks neighbourhood of Kolkata is decorated with Christmas banners and décor along with strands of light running above the heads of the people walking. The city has almost 40,000 Christian residents of  Kolkata who are quite active in their communities. Kolkata’s famous Park Street gets filled with visitors who come to enjoy the festival and do some shopping.

Shillong

The north-eastern city of Meghalaya has a good number of Christians who celebrate the birth anniversary of Christ with some pomp and glory. Their celebrations make Shillong a great relaxing place to celebrate Christmas in north-east India. The streets, the churches, and the homes are decorated with beautiful lights and one can surely feel the excitement in the air.

Goa

The city has a Portuguese legacy and is populated with Catholic residents that celebrate Christmas with their hearts. Mumbai
