Decorate your house

Buy a Christmas tree, as it is considered as the most important Christmastime decoration. Get either a real tree or an artificial one and set it up in the room where you and your family will be opening presents together on Christmas day. You can decorate the tree with some small white lights or could also try white, blue, red, or multicoloured lights to string on your tree. Use classic round baubles and ball ornaments from the store. Spread the ornaments evenly around the tree and make sure not to leave big bare spots.

Try hanging some stockings on the wall. String a store-bought or handmade stocking across the room with the Christmas tree. Use a red or green ribbon in order to hang the stockings. According to the tradition, every member gets their own stocking that should be hung on the wall. Set out any entryway doormats outside the main door of the house that has a festive Christmas theme on it. It gives the house a very festive feel and the people who enter the house know that the members are excited to celebrate the festival of Christmas.
