CJI-Designate Sanjiv Khanna said, 'Justice Chandrachud’s “ever youthfulness”, is equally well-known abroad.
The 50th Chief Justice Of India (CJI), DY Chandrachud received an emotional farewell from CJI-designate, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, in which he praised the former CJI for leading a disciplined life, that involves waking up around 4:30 am and being a vegan.
Attempting to be quirky with his comments, Khanna mentioned that Chandrachud likes to indulge in samosas other than that people haven't seen him eat anything during meeting hours. The man behind landmark judgements on the Electoral Bonds, and the ‘Right To Privacy’ case, is know to dabble between music, hiking, and cricket. during his leisure time.
Such practice ensures that an individual in his 60s stays fit. Further, Justice Khanna mentioned that Justice Chandrachud’s “ever youthfulness”, is equally well-known abroad. “I had gone to Australia, and he joined through video conferencing. So, almost everyone came up to me and asked what his age is,” a laughing Justice Khanna expressed.

Regular physical activity and a good quality nutritious diet are the keys to being healthy and fit in the 60s.
To understand it better, let’s decode sleep patterns which are of two types based on timings for going to bed and waking up – evening and morning chronotypes. “Morning chronotype individuals prefer to be active in the morning and sleep and wake early. Evening chronotypes prefer to be active in the evening and sleep and wake up late.
A person waking up at 4-4:30 m fits into the morning chronotype. This pattern is in sync with the natural circadian rhythm. Meanwhile, having early dinners reduces the risk of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and enhances your metabolic health. Other than these habits, yoga, meditation, and exercises can keep you energised. Early risers should utilise their mornings are the preferred time for outdoor activities such as walking and running, as there is less traffic, and ease of movement makes it an ideal environment.

A vegan diet is mostly plant-based diet and remove the possibility of any consumption of foods obtained from animals such as dairy products, poultry, eggs, and meat. A plant-based diet can help with weight management and obesity prevention, both of which are important for cardiovascular health in the 60s and beyond.
