Peppermint oil is an oil derived from the leaves of the peppermint plant, which is a hybrid of watermint and spearmint. For many years Peppermint oil has been used for a variety of different things: food flavouring, aroma, medicinal purposes. It has been proven beneficial for many other things as well. Fights dandruff
According to wellandgood.com, peppermint essential oil has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. The oil also soothes a dry and itchy scalp giving it a cool effect. The antifungal quality helps to control overactive fungal activity which is the main cause of dandruff. Peppermint essential oil when mixed in shampoo is known to clean the scalp by penetrating into it and strengthening hair follicles. The same effect can be observed when this essential oil is mixed in regular hair oil. Only two drops are enough for two teaspoons of the oil or shampoo, whichever way it is used. It adds shine to hair as well.
Against spiders and other pests
Peppermint oil has a pungent choking smell and can be used to get rid of spiders or other pests. Mix a few drops of oil in water and spray it wherever there are cobwebs and spiders.
Other than these, peppermint oil is used in cosmetic products like soaps and creams. Peppermint leaves are sprinkled on food to give out an aroma. It is used as an aromatic oil which gives a sense of freshness in the area it is being used in.
