Making a tattoo involves inserting a design in a person's body using dyes, inks or pigments into the dermis (second layer) of the skin. As scary as that sounds, tattoos aren't as painful as people keep telling you. Modern tattooing is done through a tattoo machine. Tattooing has been done since the ancient eras where people used pigments to tattoo design onto their skin. Here are some of the tattooing tips and ideas you need to keep in mind before getting a tattoo.
Tattoo ideas
- Tattooing something small and with a generic concept is an option you can choose if you are unsure about the tattoo concept.
- If you are tattooing a text then make sure that the spelling is correct because you wouldn't want to do a next David Beckham as far as tattoos are concerned.
- For office goers or bureaucrats, choose to get a tattoo in an area which could be easily covered up with your clothes, depending upon the freedom your current or future profession/workplace might offer.
Things to know about Tattoos
- Your first tattoo will be special to you, so think twice and make sure that you really want a tattoo. Do not get a tattoo impulsively as the chances are that you may regret it after a few months.
- Don't put your stakes on the tattoo removal techniques thinking that you have an option to erase your body art whenever you want to (unless you are rich and have a high endurance).
- Go to an experienced tattoo artist if you want intricate designs as they are better with the tattoo colour suggestion according to your skin colour.
- Do your part of the research! (both theory and the word of mouth)
- Tattoo removal is super expensive and painful.
- You are going to be trusting your tattoo artist for his skills and expect that his tattoo parlour is hygienic with proper sterilized or at least clean tattoo instruments. So, don't haggle with your tattoo artist.
- Tattoos will definitely hurt al little, so prep your mind according to that. However, fear not, it is just a minor discomfort similar to getting an injection.
- Some people may be allergic to the dyes used so ask your dermatologist before you get a tattoo. If you have had an allergic reaction to hair dye, artificial jewellery, or cheap fragrances before then you must get yourself checked before getting tatted.
- If you want bigger tattoos with too much detailing, you may need multiple sessions to get your design tattooed.
- Specific areas on body hurt more than other parts, so select where you want to get a tattoo being mindful about that.
- Be sure to follow the tattoo aftercare tips given by the aesthetician.
