Dreadlocks, also known as locs, or in Sanskrit - the Jata are ropelike strands of hair formed by matting or braiding hair. Dreadlocks are a part of cultural and spiritual practices. They stand for empowering humans and make you feel more whole and one with nature. Live simply in service and in peace is what dreads symbolises. They are not meant to be exhibited by all or as a statement of fashion. Dreadlocks are more than just a symbolic statement of disregard for physical appearances. Traditionally it is believed that your mental and spiritual energy mainly exit the body through the top of your head and the hair. If the hair is knotted, then the energy will continue to remain in the body, keeping a person strong and healthy. Here are a few types of dreadlocks that have been listed below.

Sister Locks

Sister locks are smaller in size and offer you the option to even curl the locks with a curling tool if you wish to do so. They are a little costlier because of their smaller size. Prices depend on the length of your hair and the width of your sections.

Braid Locks

Free Form Locks

Free form locks are the original locks, which are formed by simply leaving your hair alone. Wash your hair and leave it alone for a long period of time like 6-7 months. Do not wash it, do not comb it for a long duration. The hair will automatically start locking itself in knots. They do not form the most precise or neat looking locks but this is how it has been done since centuries.

Traditional Locs

Traditional locks are started by using finger coils and curls comb. This can be done at home by using the free form locks method but if you want your dreadlocks to be neat and tidy then you should take help from the professionals. Prices will vary depending on the length of your hair and thickness. These can be maintained by applying a twisting gel, twisting your hair at the root, and securing in place with a metal clip. You also have the option to interlock your hair.
