Milan Fashion Week: Dhruv Kapoor's Childhood Memoir Dictates labels' Co-ed Spring Collection '25
Dhruv Kapoor presents fashion beyond gender role as part of his SS'25 Collection at the Milan fashion Week held between June 14 and June 18 in Italy.
Gurgaon-based fashion designer Dhruv Kapoor traces the path of one's childhood to adulthood through his latest co-ed spring collection '25 that hit the ramps of Milan Fashion Week 2025.
At one of the 'buzziest' fashion week held annually, Kapoor turned heads right from the use of a massive red bunny awaiting guests to be seated for the designer's summer/spring show to hit the Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 25.
Designer's take on MFW SS'25 Collection
“Spring’ 25 is formed of diverse memories, tracing a person’s journey from childhood to adulthood. The offering projects a combination of observations, innocence, desires and curiosity into innovative ensembles,” shares Dhruv to LifestyleAsia.
The fashion capital of Italy, aka Milan, has turned into a second home for Indian designers, and names like Dhruv Kapoor would be the authority on that subject.
Since the world was introduced to Kapoor's first fashion capsule in 2014, the designer of a label that attempts to break the archaic rule of of gender keeps surprising his loyal audience with unpredictable use of motifs and design ethos.
Driven by the urge to weave different time period in a single creation, Kapoor mixes the ‘then and now’ of fashion and brings these ethos to the ramps of Milan.
“My main aim was to transport our audience to a time when dressing was not about what was pre-defined for a specific gender, it was the feeling that an ensemble generated. An eclectic mix of borrowed dad shoes; oversized pieces belonging to a sibling; slouchy 90s fits; flared jeans for a nostalgic pop; summer jorts with a hint of vintage; and cotton sheets draped into tailored pieces. A projection of how we wish to look mature when we are young and younger as we grow up,” adds Kapoor.
