Winter is coming and it is time to stock up on winter care products. One of the most important winter care product is a lip balm. The cold temperature and harsh weather during winters usually leads to chapped lips that can be painful. Here are a few organic homemade DIY lip balms which will help you get through the winter season with healthy, soft lips.
Honey
Honey is known to be a natural moisturising agent and is one of the best ingredients for curing dry skin and chapped lips. To use this product, you could apply honey directly on your lips for about two to three times a day, or you could mix honey and glycerine and apply it on your lips before going to bed.
Cucumber
During winter you could use cucumber juice to hydrate your chapped lips. You can also take a couple of thin slices of cucumber and gently rubbing it against them.
Aloe vera
Aloe vera is known for its healing properties and can also help cure chapped lips. In case you have an aloe vera plant, you could cut its leaf and extract its gel and apply it over your lips. You could also use aloe vera gel to cure chapped lips.
Rose petals
Rose petals are also one of the ingredients that could be used to keep your lips moisturised. You can use it by washing a few rose petals and soak them in milk or glycerine for a few hours. Make a thick paste of the soaked rose petals and apply them on your lips. You could use it three times a day for better results. You could also apply it before going to bed.
Milk cream and lemon juice
Use one teaspoon of milk cream and mix it with few drops of lemon juice. After mixing it together, leave it in the refrigerator for an hour and then apply it on your lips before going to bed.
