The Miss Universe 2024 crown, officially dubbed Lumière de l’Infini (Light of Infinity), is turning heads for more reasons than one. For the first time in history, this show-stopper headpiece is crafted in the Philippines—and it's a stunner. Made by Filipino artisans using rare South Sea pearls from Palawan, this crown isn't just a symbol of beauty; it's a masterpiece.

Victoria Kjaer Theilvig from Denmark won the 73rd Miss Universe competition held in Mexico.

Intricate deets about the Miss Universe Crown 2024

Unveiled on November 14 in Mexico City, where the 2024 pageant was held, the crown is the brainchild of Jewelmer, a luxury jewelry company based in the Philippines. Jewelmer, known for its brilliant designs, also created the La Mer en Majeste (Sea of Majesty) crown used in Miss Universe Philippines since 2022, however, Lumière de l’Infini takes things to the next level, utlising the golden South Sea pearls that take 4-5 years and 377 st/eps to cultivate. Speaking about the crown's design,

Jewelmer said it's the 'pinnacle of savoir-faire' on Instagram. The makers of this special crown also mentioned that the rare golden South Sea pearl is known as the National Gem of the Philippines that the sea carries within.

This is the 13th crown in Miss Universe history, holding the record for the most crowns used by any major international pageant—just for context, the rival Miss World’s crown hasn’t been updated since 1972.

And here's a fun fact: With this crown, Southeast Asia now dominates the pageant world. Three of the four major international pageant crowns (Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Earth) are now produced in Southeast Asia, with pearls as their key adornment.

The Philippines is also vying for another win, with Chelsea Manalo representing the country in the 2024 competition. Could she be the fifth Filipino woman to take home the crown? Fans are eagerly watching as the Light of Infinity makes its debut.
