Diwali, the Festival of Lights is one of the most well-known Indian festivals across the world. Diwali is known as the festival of bright diyas and beautiful rangolis. The first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Diwali is sweets. It is not only Diwali but every Indian festival that may remind you of the delicious sweets they are known for. Here are some Diwali snacks or Diwali faral recipes that can be tried at home:

1) Dhaniya strips

To prepare this snack you need very few ingredients. The ingredients you might need is flour, cooking oil coriander and salt. It is always better to make it at home rather than buying and consuming what may be unhealthy food. It takes less than 30 minutes to prepare this snack. You can enjoy the snack with a cup of hot tea.

2) Chakli

One of the most famous dishes in the Diwali season, chakli is made from the flour of rice, black gram and Bengal gram. It is also called Murukku when it is made without Bengal gram. This crunchy and delicious snack is one of the most popular options for Diwali snacks.

3) Gujia

Gujia is a sweet dish and it is very famous in Bihar with the name of Purukiyas. The preparation method of the dessert is similar to that of a samosa. It is stuffed with a mixture of Khoya and dried fruits. Gujia has different names in different states of India.

4) Mawa Kachori

5) Mohanthal

On many auspicious occasions, Mohanthal is prepared and offered to the deity. This a sweet dish is made with the combination of besan flour, ghee and sugar. Mohanthal is also called Mohanthar. Adding saffron and cardamom can make this dessert tastier.
