Diwali is just a few days away and kids cannot wait to get done with their exams and enjoy the festivities. The advent of Diwali brings sheer happiness along with a variety of lip-smacking snacks and munchies. Parents take some time off their schedules to prepare their kid's favourite snacks. Here are some snacks that kids love to eat on the occasion of Diwali.

Diwali snacks that remind us of childhood


1. Chakli


Rice flour chakli is a snack that has been loved not only by kids but by adults too. It is a crunchy snack made from flour, gram dal and sesame seeds. This sweet is loaded with cumin seeds and is very easy to make at home. This is also a perfect tiffin snack for kids. Many prefer playing with the ingredients of chakli. Some like it tangy, and some like it with butter. Butter chakli to known to be a kids-favourite snack.

2. Sweet Shankarpali


Shankarpali is a renowned snack that is prepared in most of the households during Diwali. It is often shaped in the form a diamond and is made from maida, semolina, sugar and refined oil. It is either baked or deep-fried, depending on how crunchy one wants it to be. Sharkarpali is served with hung curd or pickle. Some kids have it as a side dish during lunch too.

3. Coconut Gujiya


Coconut gujiya is another famous snack, that is particularly made during Diwali. This semi-circular snack has an outer covering made of refined flour and salt, and its stuffing is filled with crushed coconut and sweet essence. Many prefer adding crushed peanuts and dry fruits into the coconut mixture to give it a crunchy texture. This delicacy is another kids-favourite Diwali snack.

4. Crispy Ganthiyas


Ganthiya is one such snack that is made in a different form than usual during Diwali. During Diwali, one usually likes to have spicy ganthiyas made from gram flour, carom seeds, soda and red chilly powder. These thin sticks are deep-fried in oil, to make them crispy and light. Children prefer having this snack during tea time too.
