Classic Coca-Cola is one of the biggest selling beverages across the globe. The carbonated soft drink that was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton for the medical purpose was brought to the market by Asa Griggs Candler under the banner of Coca-Cola Company. The company dominated the soft drink market throughout the 20th century.

The drink was originally named after its basic ingredients: coca leaves, and kola nuts (a source of caffeine).

In the course of time, the company had come up with several new versions of the aerated drink.

Here’s a list of the strangest and most successful flavors available around the globe,

1. Coca-Cola Coffee Plus

Coca-Cola Coffee Plus is one of the newest flavours launched by the company. The coffee-flavoured cola was launched in Japan as a vending machine exclusive in the year 2017. The super-caffeinated drink was also launched for a limited time in Australia during the summer.

2. Coca-Cola Clear

The drink is just released in Japan, Coca-Cola Clear doesn't have the distinctive caramel flavour and colour of the original product. The beverage that tastes somewhat lemony has zero calories and is more than slightly reminiscent of Crystal Pepsi in the 1990s. The company currently has no plans to sell it outside of Japan.

3. Coca-Cola Raspberry

Coca-Cola Raspberry was launched in New Zealand on a trial basis in the year 2005 and was discontinued before the end of the year. However, a Raspberry Diet Coke was also briefly available, but none of them are in the market at the moment.

4. Coca-Cola Ginger

This beverage was introduced in Australia in November 2016, but it was soon discontinued a limited period of time.

5. Coca-Cola Orange

The beverage is currently available in Latvia and Russia. Coca-Cola Orange was introduced to the UK and Gibraltar in 2007 but has since been withdrawn. It has also been briefly available in Japan, Turkey, the US, and Brazil. 

6. Diet Coke Plus

Diet Coke Plus, the nutrition carrying soft drink was launched in the UK in October 2007 in two versions, one contained added B3, B12, and vitamin C while the other was enriched with green tea and vitamin C. It was later launched in Finland and Brazil. Nowadays, it’s availability is restricted to Japan.

7. Coca-Cola Green Tea

This drink was launched in Japan in 2009, but it was discontinued later. Green Tea Coca-Cola targeted health-conscious drinkers, it contained many of the antioxidants found in green tea.

8. Coca-Cola Cherry

Coca-Cola Cherry was launched in 1985. The drink was widely circulated across the globe.
