Japan: Chef Alan Fisher breaks Guinness World Record for cooking, baking; Marathon session stuns all
Alan Fisher from Ireland broke the Guinness record for the longest cooking and baking marathons. He cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes and baked for over 47hrs
Alan Fisher is the world's new Cooking King! After cooking for 119 hours and 57 minutes at a stretch, Fisher became a Guinness World record holder for the longest cooking title. The man has broken the record of previous holder Hilda Baci from Nigeria exceeding Baci's cooking time by around 24 hours!
The chef achieved the feat at his Irish-themed restaurant located in Japan's Matsue. Interestingly, he also is the new baking king having dethroned Wendy Sandner of the US with the longest baking marathon!
Alan attempted both feats almost simultaneously with just a day's rest in between a total cooking time of 160 hours.
Speaking to the Guinness World Records (GWR), Fisher said, “Records are made to be broken but for today at least, I can hold both simultaneously. So many sleepless nights, early mornings, anxieties and financial stress to keep the business alive. Just head down and persevere. Breaking these records is a fitting way to share our story and create a little awareness about the Irish connection here in Matsue.”
Meanwhile, the news has set the internet on fire.. Congratulations are pouring in coupled with promises to visit his restaurant and savour Fisher's fare. Certainly, a win win for everyone.
