Kheer is all time desired dish. It is an integral part of every household, whether it be some festival or simply a get-together, this recipe certainly tops. The sweet, nuts packed creamy and tasty kheer entices all age-groups. The word Kheer is derived from Sanskrit word Ksheera which means milk. This traditional delicacy is also known as Payasam, Payasa in various regions of India. Here are tasty and yummy kheer recipes that you may want to try today.

1. Rice Kheer with Condensed Milk

If you have been wondering how to make this tempting kheer, here it is. Soak 50 gm rice. Take 1-litre milk and heat it. Take the soaked rice and boil until soft. Later, add 1 pint of condensed milk and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add some cardamom powder and add some spicy taste to your sweet kheer. Take the yummy delicacy in a bowl and garnish it with nuts and almonds. Your kheer is ready. This recipe requires approximately 30 min to prepare and cook.

2. Coconut Kheer

To make coconut kheer you need 1/2 cup rice, soak it overnight. Grate 1/2 cup coconut. 2-3 cups milk. 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tbsp ghee, cinnamon powder and nuts of your choice. You need to first boil the milk. Later, add the rice, grated coconut, sugar and cardamom to the boiled milk. Cook for about 30 minutes, remember to cook on low flame for the rice to cook well. Take another pan and heat ghee with raisins and nuts of your choice. Transfer the ingredients in a bowl and garnish your kheer with the ghee-laced nuts and raisins.

3. KK- Kesar Kheer

Take some milk and soak some saffron strands for about 30 minutes. Take a pan, preferable heavy-bottom pan so that you don't burn this mouth-watering food. Add milk and bring it to boil. Add rice and cook until soft. Later, add coconut, sugar and cardamom. Cook for about 7 minutes. Transfer the kheer in a bowl and top it this wonder with kesar and pistachios.
