How to make vanilla ice cream at home
Ingredients
For this homemade vanilla ice cream recipe, all you need is three cups of milk, half a cup of sugar and one tablespoon of cornflour. You will also require one tablespoon of vanilla essence (depends on how sweeter you want your ice cream to taste). Lastly, you will require a bowl of fresh cream to make your ice cream creamier.
Step 1
Begin with preparing this vanilla ice cream at home by taking a bowl and pouring one-fourth cup of milk into it. Add the cornflour to it and whisk it thoroughly. Make sure to whisk it in one single direction, this is a hack to make your ice cream’s texture creamy. Do the needful, and keep the mixture aside for ten to fifteen minutes.
Step 2
Now, take a deep non-stick pan and add the remaining milk into it. Keep the flame of the stove on moderate or even low and allow the milk to boil for ten minutes. Do not stop stirring the milk. Once it starts bubbling a little, add the cornflour-milk mixture into it, and then add sugar. Mix all of this well and let it cook on low flame for ten minutes. Once done, let the mixture cool down completely.
Step 3
After cooling it, add a cup full of fresh cream and vanilla essence to the mixture. Now pour the mixture in a container and blend it until it is smooth and creamy. Cover the mixture with an aluminium foil and freeze it overnight. Freeze it at least for ten to eleven hours. Check your ice cream after six hours by inserting a spoon into it. If it comes out clean, your icecream is setting, if it comes out unclean, let it freeze for longer.
