How to reduce sodium in your diet?

Your body needs sodium but in very little quantity. So avoid anything that has a lot of sodium content in it. You can start eating about 2,300 milligrams of salt, about one spoon of table salt each day. You can stop seasoning your salad with salt. Avoid eating canned or processed food as they have preservatives and can increase the level of sodium in your body. Avoid consuming alcohol as it also is a known trigger for high blood pressure. These are a few ways in which you can reduce hypertension.

Change your diet plan

Add bananas, green leafy vegetables, beetroot, seeds, walnuts, and garlic to your diet. These foods have a lot of vitamins and compounds like potassium, magnesium, and fibre, which help control the sodium level in your bloodstreams. They also aid in flushing the sodium out of the body. Sodium also reduces the iron level in your blood. These food items will help you fight the high sodium level and balance the iron level required by the body.
