“You have to eat to lose weight. Love-hate relationship with food is not the answer to anything", says the celebrity nutritionist Pooja Makhija. The dietician has several celebrities as her client, including Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, and Karan Johar. In a recent video shared by SheThePeople, Makhija is quoted saying“If you follow ‘a diet’ then you are going to stop ‘the diet.’

According to Makhija, a diet should not be stopping you from visiting different occasions or social gatherings to avoid munching on unhealthy food. You cannot keep your life away from yourself following a 'diet fad'. Makhija further added that if you keep obsessing about your diet then you won’t be able to stay on the diet for very long and might even compromise on your work out.
Whatever diet anyone embarks has to be a lifestyle approach. If you start this eating habit, then the results will stay with you forever and will never disappear. A balanced and healthy diet is the key here. In the video, the dietician also talked about other diet fads like intermittent fasting. This fad was recently made popular by several celebrities. However, later, the fad started receiving some backlash from critics and health experts.
Makhija added that intermittent dieting is not something you have to strictly stay away from. For some people, intermittent fasting works really well. However, she also warned that people with certain medical conditions should not follow intermittent fasting.
The nutritionist explained that it is very important that any diet you start should eventually keep you happy. Only if your diet is making you energetic, happy, and you are able to do different roles that you have to do every day, is when you should go for a diet. But if the chosen diet is killing yourself and making angry, then it is not worth following the diet, Pooja Makhija concluded.
