  1. Switch to a Healthy Diet: In order to stay away from acidity and digestive problems, adapting to healthier food options is a wise idea. Nutritious food never goes out of style and is key to maintaining the mother's and the baby's health. Another tip to try is replacing the usual three heavy meals a day with six to eight smaller meals a day
  2. Rest More, Worry Less: Stop stressing over small things, and apart from doing more fun activities, get ample rest! This could include listening to your favourite music, recording your pregnancy journey, or simply just Netflixing
  3. Learn to Understand Signs of Labor: Be aware of the early signs of labour, whether is water breaking or the mother going into exessive labour pain, prior research and active reading about pregnancy health is pivotal to ensure a situation isn't misinterpreted or create unwarranted panic attacks
  4. Don’t Get Dehydrated: Staying hydrated is very important, as you drink water for your baby too. Water helps in preventing pregnancy blues such as headaches and fatigue. Opt for healthier fluids like fresh fruit juices (except papaya) or coconut water. More consumption of water also diminishes the degree of edema in your body, thus averting swelling
  5. Keep a Calendar Check: Keeping a tab on all the important dates is very essential during the third trimester. This applies to regular check-ups, sonography appointments, or booking your room at a hospital well in advance for your delivery date. Ensure more than one person is aware of the maternity calendar, preferably a family member or a trusted friend who is easily accessible
  6. Exercise: Exercising is important, but it shouldn’t be your priority. Exercise only if your health allows, as it varies for every individual. However, light yoga can be an alternative to consider. Brisk walking and running on a treadmill are not advisable. Following your doctor's advice on the issue is recommended
  7. Pamper Yourself: Shop online, get a manicure, pedicure or a facial done. Try new hairstyles, pick up more books to read, keep yourself entertained and engaged in an activity
  8. Keep your Hospital Bag Ready: An expectant mother can go into labour anytime in the third trimester, staying prepared is important. Avoid the last-minute hassles and make a list of all the necessary things you will need, medical reports, phone chargers, etc.
  9. Communication: Stay in constant touch with your doctor and your family members. Always have more than one medium to communicate with them in case of emergency to avoid any mishap
  10. Stay Medically Insured: Medical insurance is an important aspect and shouldn't be skipped
