Also, both can take days or weeks to disappear but it requires a unique approach for healing. Cold sores tend to show up in one area of the lower lip every time. Sometimes cold sores can also develop around the mouth and nose. Pimples, on the other hand, are small and sensitive bumps which are often formed because of excess amounts of hair follicles. Larger pimples can sometimes cause scarring when a person picks or bursts them. According to experts, overproduction of oil in the skin causes acne and pimples. Other possible causes also include pregnancy, menstrual periods, certain medications or excessive use of some cosmetic products.

Cold sores tend to resolve without any treatment after a week or more than that. There is no certain medication for cold sores, but prescription of antiviral medicines can be helpful to treat them in some cases. A person can reduce the risk of getting or spreading the infection by avoiding touching the lips of someone with a cold sore. Also, refrain to share food and beverages with people who have cold sores.

Treatment and Prevention for Pimples

One can manage their pimples at home by using oil-free cosmetics and skincare products. Gently washing your face twice a day with cold water will also help in getting rid of pimples. If you have severe acne, then it is best to see a doctor or dermatologist. Do not touch or rub pimples and apply minimal makeup. As suggested by experts, use creams and lotions made with zinc, which eventually also helps to cut down your pimples.
